Job Summary:

The Sous Chef will play a crucial role in the daily operations of our restaurant, working closely with the Executive Chef to ensure high-quality food and service. This position is responsible for assisting in the planning and design of menus, preparing and plating dishes with attention to detail, maintaining timely service standards, and stepping in to lead food preparation when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and designing menus to ensure high-quality food and service
  • Prepare and plate dishes with attention to detail and presentation
  • Maintain timely service standards and ensure seamless execution of kitchen operations
  • Step in to lead food preparation when needed, including managing kitchen staff and ensuring efficient workflow
  • Train and manage kitchen staff to ensure high-quality food and service
  • Order supplies and maintain inventory management procedures to ensure efficient and organized kitchen operations
  • Enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop new menu items and stay up-to-date with current culinary trends

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a high-volume restaurant or hospitality setting
  • Experience with a la carte operations and banquets is required
  • Strong knowledge of various cooking methods, equipment, and procedures
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and procedures
