Job Summary

AMF Bakery is seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembly Technician to join our team. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for the mechanical assembly of our machinery, assemblies, and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpret and execute verbal, written, and drawn instructions to assemble parts using various fasteners and joining techniques.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to quality standards and safe work practices.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and engineers to identify and implement productivity and quality improvements.
  • Report on assembly progress and suggest countermeasures to maintain or recover schedules.
Requirements
  • Trade school or relevant mechanical assembly experience.
  • Ability to comprehend and execute verbal, written, and drawn instructions, including 2D and 3D engineering drawings and/or schematics.
  • Solid mechanical aptitude, enabling the use of sound judgment in the proper use of fasteners and assembly steps.
  • Comfortable working with a wide variety of hand, electrical, and pneumatic tools.
  • Ability to assess problematic situations, diagnose potential issues, and repair problems.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and safely operate a fork truck.
  • Welding skills preferred but not required.
Working Conditions
  • Typical manufacturing facility conditions, with occasional exposure to loud environments.
  • Employee must be able to stand on concrete floors for extended periods and perform tasks that require kneeling, squatting, and bending.
Additional Requirements
  • Must have own basic tools, including a lockable toolbox.
  • Safety glasses and steel-toed safety shoes are required.
  • Long pants and a sleeved shirt are required.
