About the Role

Ameritas Life is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Data Science and Generative AI Focused Intern to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge Generative AI solutions that harness the power of natural language processing (NLP), natural language understanding (NLU), and computer vision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop A.I. solutions using a variety of open source, closed source, and commercial tools.
  • Gain knowledge on how to fine tune and train existing base models, implement RAG solutions, and provide technical expertise for language model architectures.
  • Participate in the A.I. development life cycle learning best practices and standards.
  • Participate in complex projects as an individual contributor.
  • Work closely with other technical team members to support their efforts.
Requirements
  • Must be actively enrolled in a relevant degree program including Business Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, Economics.
  • Proficiency in Python, Pytorch, or TensorFlow required.
  • Ability to learn and follow industry best practices required.
  • Ability to work with both business and IT partners required.
  • Desire to research and learn new technologies and frameworks required.
  • Experience or exposure to Generative AI, small & large language model architectures, neural networks, computer vision, deep learning, language models, or transformers strongly desired.
  • A solid understanding of machine learning and GenAI workflows including ingesting data, analyzing and transforming data, and evaluating the results for meaningful outcomes desired.
