About the Role

The Chinese American Service League is seeking a highly skilled Building Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our campus infrastructure and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance plans for all MEP equipment, ensuring timely calibration, repair, and servicing.
  • Collaborate with the Safety & Security Manager to implement safety protocols and respond to adverse events.
  • Oversee the annual maintenance and operations budget, ensuring expenses are tracked and invoices reviewed for budgetary adherence.
  • Submit quarterly energy consumption data for sustainability reports and ensure compliance with local, regional, and national MEP regulations and permits.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; technical training in facilities management, HVAC, refrigeration, or electrical systems preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience with HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or lighting control systems.
  • Ability to lead and organize large amounts of data; proficient with Microsoft 365, including basic-level Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to identify and diagnose mechanical problems in real time.
  • Strong communication skills, with experience working with vendors, internal partners, and non-technical customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to self-manage time and projects independently.
  • Collaborative problem solver, able to address complex, multi-functional issues.
