EMS Liaison Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced EMS Liaison Nurse to join our team at Methodist Dallas Medical Center. As a key member of our Emergency Department, you will play a critical role in coordinating pre-hospital communications, enhancing the continuum of care, and improving customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities- Act as the liaison to affiliated EMS and pre-hospital agencies, coordinating communications and facilitating the flow of patients from the pre-hospital setting to the acute care setting.
- Use critical thinking skills to coordinate pre-hospital communications with EMS Providers and enhance the continuum of care.
- Work with team members and administration to improve customer satisfaction and maximize results within the Emergency Department and throughout the hospital.
- Develop and implement new methods to accomplish objectives, meeting the needs of our customers.
- Participate in educational activities, including staff training, Basic Life Support - CPR Instructor, and AHA - Caruth Initiative Grant Education (EMS Champion).
- Coordinate paramedic CEs quarterly for ED paramedics as needed and assist Materials Specialist with medical equipment training.
- Maintain all records of educational activities and ensure that EMS Services provides the appropriate documentation of each patient brought to the ED.
- Act as a liaison between the ED Staff and EMS for questions and concerns regarding clinical and professional interactions.
- Perform other tasks and duties as assigned, including working with ED Leadership and Emergency Management Department to assist in developing mock MCI drills and other mock drills.
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred).
- Licenses and/or Certifications: Advanced Cardio Life Support, Basic Life Support, TNCC (preferred), CEN (preferred).
- Experience in EMS operations, EMS clinical education, and ability to evaluate the knowledge and technical skills of EMS providers.
- Ability to complete tasks in a satisfactory and timely fashion.
