Position Summary

The Finance and Insurance (F&I) Manager is responsible for structuring vehicle financing options for clients with average to strong credit profiles, ensuring compliance with lending guidelines and dealership policies. This role is designed for a Finance Manager who possesses sales management skills. Responsibilities will encompass the standard duties of an F&I Manager, along with supporting the sales management team as needed. The ideal candidate should also be prepared to assume the Sales Manager role during their absence.

Key Responsibilities of the F&I Manager

  • Implement and uphold dealership policies and procedures.
  • Maintain an organized and professional office environment.
  • Communicate any problematic deals to management promptly.
  • Address any missing documentation from lenders without delay.
  • Exhibit a high standard of professional ethics and respect towards customers.
  • Possess knowledge of state finance regulations and the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
  • Collaborate effectively with relevant departments.
  • Train and supervise sales personnel on regulatory changes and compliance.
  • Structure financing deals in line with lender and dealership standards.
  • Ensure accurate representation of all deals and equipment.
  • Conduct credit interviews and prepare credit applications.
  • Verify the accuracy of all information on credit applications before submission to lenders.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding customer information.
  • Provide customers with clear financial disclosures.
  • Market credit insurance and service contracts.
  • Foster positive relationships with lenders.
  • Keep an updated lender program guide and acquire knowledge of available options.
  • Evaluate new lending programs and negotiate deals with lenders.
  • Maintain an inventory log and make recommendations for management.
  • Assist in moving older inventory.
  • Keep a log of incoming calls and contracts in transit.
  • Train administrative staff on assembling funding packages.
  • Review funding packages prior to dispatch.
  • Demonstrate vehicles when necessary.
  • Design and place advertisements for special financing options.
  • Analyze credit reports to identify conventional deals.
  • Accurately cost special finance deals and prepare profit sheets.
  • Process deposits immediately.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an F&I Manager is recommended.
  • Bilingual candidates are preferred.
  • Strong mathematical and computer skills are essential.
