SUMMARY

The Senior Internal Auditor is responsible for executing professional internal auditing tasks, which encompass conducting operational, financial, and compliance audits while offering advisory services to the management and staff of the organization under the guidance of an Internal Audit Manager or Senior Internal Auditor. This role operates under direct supervision and relies on established instructions and guidelines to fulfill job responsibilities. The Internal Auditor is expected to uphold all organizational and professional ethical standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assists in recognizing and assessing the organization's risk areas and contributes to the formulation of the Annual Audit Plan.
  • Conducts audit procedures, which include identifying and defining issues, establishing criteria, reviewing and analyzing evidence, and documenting client processes and procedures.
  • Engages in interviews, reviews documentation, develops and administers surveys, composes summary memos, and prepares working papers.
  • Identifies, develops, and documents audit findings and recommendations using independent judgment regarding the areas under review.
  • Communicates or aids in communicating the outcomes of audit and consulting projects through written reports and oral presentations to management and the Board of Directors.
  • Fosters and maintains productive relationships with clients and staff through individual interactions and group meetings.
  • Pursues opportunities for professional development, including external and internal training and memberships in professional associations, and shares knowledge gained with colleagues.
  • Performs any other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. No supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS

To successfully perform this role, an individual must be able to execute each essential duty satisfactorily. Additionally, the qualifications listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required for this position:
  1. Bachelor's degree (4-year college) and 3+ years of experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
COMPUTER AND OFFICE EQUIPMENT SKILLS
  1. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

CRCM, CIA, CPA, CBA, or CAMS may substitute for one year of required experience.
