Overview: The HR Generalist will report directly to the Regional Human Resources Director and will be primarily tasked with delivering comprehensive Human Resources support and services for the designated facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Foster and enhance positive employee relations by providing direct HR assistance to the facility.
  • Oversee the payroll functions for the facility.
  • Address and resolve employee inquiries and concerns in collaboration with the plant leadership team.
  • Support the HR Director with broader HR initiatives.
  • Conduct initial investigations into employee issues.
  • Manage various leave programs including FMLA, CFRA, PDL, etc.
  • Assist in responding to unemployment claims.
  • Participate in reporting and investigating workplace incidents and health issues.
  • Collaborate with the Global Claims Manager on Workers' Compensation claims.
  • Handle facility HR-related correspondence.
  • Facilitate recruitment and onboarding processes for both production and professional staff.
  • Evaluate processes and implement improvements where necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with Federal and State regulations regarding payroll, employee relations, and leave management.
  • In partnership with the Regional HR Director, assist plant leaders in managing corrective actions to enhance performance and adherence to company policies.
  • Interpret company policies and procedures to maintain consistency for facility leadership and employees.
  • Promote effective employee communication to ensure clarity and understanding.
  • Organize monthly employee engagement activities.
  • Support plant operations effectively.
  • Engage in corporate projects and initiatives.
  • Advocate for and embody Core Values.
  • Mentor and develop leaders on processes, procedures, and performance management.
  • Assess plant requirements and implement necessary changes.
  • Cultivate a positive and supportive HR culture.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field is preferred.
  • 2 - 5 years of experience as an HR Generalist, ideally in a distribution or manufacturing setting.
  • 2 - 5 years of payroll experience.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal employment regulations.
  • Proven experience in managing and resolving a variety of employee relations matters.
  • A strong commitment to customer service.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with a diverse workforce.
  • Comfort in developing and delivering group presentations to employees.
  • Ability to maintain composure in various situations.
  • Capability to ensure compliance with State and Federal labor laws at all leadership levels.
  • Proficiency in assessing escalation needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PHR certification.
  • Experience with Titan software.
  • Familiarity with Kronos timekeeping systems.
  • Knowledge of Success Factors software.
