About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Content Editing Coordinator to join our team at UpToDate, Inc. As a key member of our content development team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and quality of our digital content.
Key Responsibilities- Assist editors with various phases of complex or multiple projects, including proofreading, copyediting, and formatting.
- Provide rapid, accurate turnaround on proofreading and copyediting assignments.
- Offer general editorial assistance for multiple editors or entire departments, including checking contracts, updating editorial files, and maintaining tracking and mapping documentation.
- Collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts, reviewers, authors, contributors, and consultants to ensure the highest quality content.
- Utilize desktop editing, document management programs, or proprietary software to enter text, verify or edit XML, and/or enter codified drug-related data.
- Apply solid knowledge of industry standards of practice, established clinical guidelines, and/or CDS-related standards and vocabularies.
- Assist in content verifying, copyediting, formatting, and conformance to publication standards and structure.
- Maintain quality of assigned content or data products, with emphasis on accuracy, consistency, and timely addition of new information.
- Submit work for collaborative peer review and respond appropriately to comments and criticisms.
- Identify and correct omissions or errors in the content.
- Anticipate, identify, and seek solutions for issues and/or inefficiencies.
- Achieve productivity by consistently meeting deadlines and meeting departmental and individual goals.
- Effectively prioritize and track editing workflow and assist the team in meeting deadlines.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and maintain detailed documentation of these projects.
- Provide timely, accurate, and quality responses to customer inquiries, as needed.
- Communicate data acquisition needs for products to product Clinical Editor and/or Data Acquisition Team, as needed.
- B.A. or B.S. in English, Journalism, Health Sciences, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in editing and/or relevant formal education.
- Experience in medical and pharmaceutical terminology and industry is highly desirable.
- Skilled in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong project management skills.
- Attention to detail is essential.
- Problem-solving skills are necessary.
- Willingness and ability to work as part of a team and also independently.
- Organized, detail-oriented, effectively meets deadlines, sets priorities.
