Business Analyst Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Analyst to join our team at the University of Florida. As a Business Analyst, you will play a critical role in facilitating cross-functional project teams to ensure the successful implementation of technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and clarify business requirements to ensure project scope aligns with business objectives and stakeholder needs.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers to ensure project scope aligns with business objectives and stakeholder needs.
  • Facilitate communication and understanding across all stakeholders.
  • Participate in project planning, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Provide critical analysis and documentation to support project success.
  • Assist in establishing governance structures tailored to the needs of each project or program.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and six years of experience.
  • Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
  • Master's degree in Information Systems, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, Economics, Information Systems, Mathematics, Educational Technology, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or Business Administration.
  • Experience using project management software such as Microsoft Project, Atlassian's Jira and Confluence, or Basecamp.
  • Knowledge of data visualization and framework tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, Canva, Illustrator, Google Draw, or Figma.
  • Experience with public speaking and presenting in front of key stakeholders.
  • Experience with customer service practices.
  • Maintains knowledge of industry best practices for project/portfolio management.
