Key Responsibilities- Abrasive Blasting: Perform abrasive blasting operations to achieve specified surface cleanliness and surface profile on tanks and piping systems.
- Inspection and Quality Control: Inspect interior and exterior lining and coating systems on purchased and produced equipment to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Equipment Preparation: Prepare equipment for painting and coating by cleaning, solvent wiping, taping, and papering prior to painting.
- Paint and Lining Application: Mix paint and linings in accordance with manufacturer's instructions and apply to equipment surfaces.
- Visual Inspection: Visually inspect own work for defects and noncompliance to specifications and make necessary repairs.
- Ambient Condition Monitoring: Monitor and report on ambient conditions such as temperature, humidity, and surface temperature to ensure application requirement compliance.
- Material Handling: Operate fork trucks and overhead cranes to move equipment in and out of paint booths and assist in other areas with various tasks as required.
- Education: High School diploma or Trade School certification required.
- Experience: Minimum of one to two years of industrial laboring experience required.
- Skills: Ability to operate hand tools, forklift, lift up to 70 lbs, and climb ladders. Ability to work in standing, kneeling, or squatting position for extended periods. Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights of up to 20 feet.
- Physical Demands: Must be able to wear a positive sealing respirator.
