Job Summary

The Biological Specimen Collector - Phlebotomy is a critical role within Aegis Sciences Corporation, responsible for collecting biological specimens, including blood, at client sites for scientific testing purposes. This position requires a high level of integrity, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sample Collection: Maintain the integrity of the collection process, ensuring the accuracy and quality of specimens.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain records for reporting purposes, including initial insurance verification for billing.
  • Sample Preparation: Package specimens for shipment, adhering to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Client Communication: Foster open communication between clients and Aegis Sales Management, addressing questions and concerns.
  • Compliance: Complete and maintain required Compliance Training, including HIPAA and annual lease agreements.
  • Safety Protocols: Comply with all applicable safety requirements, utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
  • Supply Management: Order supplies and manage budget with Regional Sales Manager and Area Sales Manager.
  • Insurance Verification: Verify insurance information through Passport as needed.
  • Payment Collection: Request and collect payments from patients, where applicable.
  • Team Collaboration: Maintain regular communication with Regional Sales Manager and Area Sales Manager, supporting marketing and sales objectives.
  • Professional Development: Encompass a 'can-do' attitude, representing Aegis in a professional, positive manner, and participating in process improvements.
Requirements
  • Education: High School diploma or GED required.
  • Phlebotomy Training: Completion of a phlebotomy training program or a minimum of three years of experience in blood collection required.
  • State Requirements: Must meet state requirements for phlebotomy certification, where required.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent customer service skills, positive approach, and attitude in patient interactions.
  • Technical Skills: Basic computer knowledge, including email management, web navigation, and security measures.
