Job Summary

InsideHigherEd is seeking a dynamic and experienced Adjunct Faculty member to join our team in the Department of English, Communication, and Languages. As a part-time faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching assigned courses, developing curriculum, and contributing to the academic success of our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned courses in English, Communication, and Languages, including English, Spanish, French, ESL, English Composition, Languages and Culture, and Reading.
  • Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with the college's academic goals and objectives.
  • Assess and evaluate student learning outcomes, providing feedback and guidance to students.
  • Participate in departmental and college-wide initiatives, including program review and development, and student learning outcomes assessment.
  • Stay current with best practices in teaching and learning, incorporating new technologies and methodologies into your instruction.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in the discipline of instruction or a related field.
  • Subject matter expertise in the Language and Literature field, with the ability to demonstrate this expertise in a teaching presentation.
  • Experience in teaching and learning, with a focus on student-centered instruction and assessment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) or English Composition.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and assessment, with experience in developing and implementing curriculum.
  • Experience in working with diverse student populations, including students from underrepresented groups.
