Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Midstate Radiology Associates. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for operating MRI equipment and performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures on patients.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Perform diagnostic MRI scanning procedures, selecting the correct technique and utilizing patient assessment to produce high-quality images.
  2. Participate in complex invasive MRI exams, assisting radiologists in performing procedures and producing images for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
  3. Start intravenous sites, assess existing sites, and inject contrast according to established protocols to support radiologists in diagnosis.
  4. Maintain MRI equipment in good working order, cleaning and disinfecting after each use and reporting any issues to supervisors.
  5. Demonstrate yearly competencies in conducting examinations and meeting patient needs, including those with special requirements.
  6. Assess physician orders and patient requisitions for completeness, reviewing relevant information to ensure correct procedures and protocols are followed.
  7. Document patient and exam information, storing computerized images for future reference or retrieval.
  8. Prepare examinations for radiologist interpretation, setting up films and accurately inputting data in the RIS system.
  9. Perform and document weekly quality assurance testing on equipment to maintain high performance.
  10. Work effectively as a team member, communicating with patients, relatives, medical staff, and co-workers to provide quality service.
  11. Provide clinical supervision and instruction to students, maintaining understanding of policies, procedures, and competency processes.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved radiology program.
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT).
  • MRI certification (obtained within six months of hire date).
  • CT state license.
  • CPR certification may be required.
  • Maintenance of continuing education credits as required by licensure.
Preferred Qualifications
  • At least one year's experience as a radiological technologist.
  • Associates or Applied Science Degree in a related field.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Working knowledge of radiological technology, anatomy, medical and surgical disease, and scientific principles.
  • Patient care standards and requirements.
  • Quality assurance principles and practices.
  • Customer service principles and practices.
  • OSHA principles and practices.
  • TJC standards of practice.
Special Conditions

May be required to rotate on night, weekend, and/or holiday call schedule. May be required to cover ancillary offices, as needed. OSHA Class 1 exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens. May involve physical lifting and/or walking.
