Accountable for the configuration, installation, upkeep, and troubleshooting of computer systems, software applications, telecommunication devices, network hardware, and operational information systems.
Collaborates closely with the IT management team to ensure adherence to organizational desktop standards and IT regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
A. Provide technical support to production facilities concerning information technology and systems utilizing established standards and best practices.
- Set up, configure, and resolve issues with hardware and software (including desktop and laptop computers, printers, switches, routers, wireless access points, scanners, and other essential hardware and software).
- Assist with the phone system support.
- Conduct server backups.
- Implement necessary updates and upgrades for servers, computers, and software as they become available.
- Document standardized processes for use across the facility.
- Create documentation for systems procedures and applications to serve as an IT reference guide.
- Act as the first point of contact for IT help desk support for end users.
- Provide desktop and laptop assistance for issues related to hardware, software (e.g., Microsoft Office), active directory, email, printing, networking, etc.
- Ensure that virus protection and anti-spyware programs are regularly updated.
- Collaborate with team members to resolve any IT-related challenges.
- Support and deploy production systems as directed by management and company policy.
- Troubleshoot IT-related issues to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is required, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Experience:
- Over 4 years of experience providing IT support in a manufacturing setting is required (preferably in the automotive sector).
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and shop floor operations.
- Experience in a Japanese-style work environment is preferred.
Skills:
- Comprehensive understanding and practical knowledge of help desk and production system applications.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- Effective presentation skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent leadership capabilities.
- Self-motivated with a robust work ethic.
- Strong organizational, planning, and analytical abilities.
- Exceptional problem-solving and customer service skills.
- Ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision.

- Ability to escalate IT issues to management and plant personnel.

- Availability to assist with IT and systems needs outside of regular hours when necessary.
Language Proficiency:
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely in verbal and written English.
- Knowledge of Japanese and/or Spanish is advantageous.
Technical Proficiency:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Windows, and other computer applications (e.g., MS Word, MS Excel, MS Access, MS PowerPoint, Internet, etc.).
- Experience with Help Desk software systems.
- Superior understanding of MS Active Directory, MS Windows Server, phone system servers, network cabling, and SQL databases is preferred.
Work Environment:
Office:
Open office setting with a moderate noise level.
Travel Requirements:
Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this position, the team member must be able to talk, see, and hear. The individual must be capable of walking, sitting, and standing for extended periods. Occasionally required to lift up to 30 pounds. Ability to sit and work on a computer for long durations is essential. Travel by automobile and airplane is also required.
