The Alternative Investments & Manager Selection Group
The Alternative Investments & Manager Selection Group (AIMS) is Goldman Sachs' dedicated manager selection business, covering solutions across private equity, real estate, credit/fixed income, ESG integrated strategies, public equity, and hedge funds. We manage globally diversified programs, targeted sector-specific strategies, customized portfolios, and a range of advisory services.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
- Conduct sourcing and due diligence of technology-focused private equity funds, including venture capital and growth equity funds, for consideration as part of fund of funds, separate account mandates and advisory mandates.
- Present investment opportunities to the Investment Committee through written and oral presentations.
- Coordinate the execution of investments, including working closely with internal and external parties.
- Monitor the performance and risk profile of existing investments.
- Perform industry research to support sourcing, diligence and investment monitoring.
- Provide portfolio updates and present investment views to AIMS' clients.
Experience and Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in manager selection, corporate finance, M&A, leverage finance, private equity, other private or public markets investing.
- Outstanding numerical and analytical skills for the purpose of assessing investment opportunities.
- Strong presentation, communication and writing skills enabling the candidate to make robust recommendations to the Investment Committee.
- Excellent time, people and project management skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a global team.
