Job Overview
Colonial Behavioral Health is dedicated to providing recovery opportunities for individuals and their families facing challenges related to mental health, substance use disorders, and developmental disabilities. We serve a diverse community, including residents of James City County, City of Poquoson, City of Williamsburg, and York County.
We are seeking a qualified Senior Clinician to join our Adult Outpatient team. This role involves delivering direct therapeutic services to individuals, families, and groups dealing with co-occurring substance use and mental health or developmental disability concerns.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage primarily with service members, veterans, and their families through in-person and telehealth sessions.
- Conduct assessments, evaluations, diagnoses, and develop service plans tailored to the population's needs.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including report writing and timely entries in health information records, utilizing both electronic and manual systems.
- Act as a consultant for colleagues and community organizations regarding assessment, diagnosis, service coordination, and referrals.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Standard business hours, Monday to Friday, with a hybrid work model (remote and on-site) based on program requirements.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
- Proficient in treating co-occurring disorders, with knowledge of group counseling techniques, family systems, and motivational interviewing.
- Ability to develop comprehensive, recovery-oriented treatment plans in accordance with agency standards.
- Capable of maintaining a professional and composed demeanor with individuals and groups in high-stress situations.
- Preferred: At least one year of experience working with individuals facing serious mental health and/or developmental disabilities.
- Valid driver's license is mandatory.
- A Master's Degree in a human services field is required.
- Must possess a valid license from the Board of Counseling or the Board of Social Work (LPC, LCSW, LCP, LMFT, or LSATP).
