Job Summary

The Assistant General Manager at MCR Hotels is a key member of our hotel management team, responsible for ensuring guest satisfaction, efficient hotel operations, and achieving hotel profitability. This role reports directly to the General Manager and is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to take on new challenges and advance their career.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the General Manager in ensuring guest satisfaction and efficient hotel operations
  • Supervise and support various hotel departments, including Guest Services, Food & Beverage, Food Production, Engineering, Accounting, Sales, and Housekeeping
  • Communicate and correct deficiencies in these departments in conjunction with the supervisor on duty
  • Assist in the development of managerial and hourly employees through Corporate and Brand training programs
  • Participate in required Manager on Duty coverage as scheduled
  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner
  • Comply and ensure adherence to MCR and Brand standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
  • Assist the General Manager with the creation of financial reports as required by MCR
Requirements
  • Must have a positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
  • Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations
  • Must be effective in handling problems in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, clarifying, and resolving the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests
  • Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data, and basic arithmetic functions
  • Must be proficient in Windows operating systems, company-approved spreadsheets, and word processing
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
  • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly
  • Must have a desire to serve all guests
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
  • Progressive experience in the hotel industry, including Rooms and Food & Beverage departments
