Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Belcan. As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for producing 3D CAD structural designs during the concept and product design phases of the product lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produces 3D CAD structural designs during the concept and product design phases of the product lifecycle.
  • Implements cable management and component mounting strategies based on internal guidelines.
  • Supports the production of 2D product assembly drawings.
  • Supports the production of 2D component drawings with appropriate GD&T.
  • Supports 3D CAD harness design.
  • Researches and presents various manufacturing methods in effort to reduce product costs while maintaining structural integrity.
  • Establishes and tests joint torque specification to achieve appropriate clamping load as needed.
  • Performs basic FEA structural analysis as needed.
  • Performs stack analysis as needed.
  • Designs and builds test fixtures for executing product validation efforts.
  • Creates production intent rapid prototypes as needed.
Requirements
  • B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or equivalent technical field experience.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years in a product development role.
  • Experience working with CAD platforms such as Solidworks.
  • Proficiency with various fabrication tools for creation of prototypes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of GD&T based on manufacturing methods.
  • Understanding of ASME Y14/ANSI Y14 standards.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Exposure to various manufacturing methods based on materials.
  • Exposure with FEA analysis tools such as Solidworks, Ansys, Altair, etc...
  • Experience with MATLAB.
  • Experience with being a contributor performing Stack analysis.
  • Experience with being a contributor performing DFMEA analysis.
