Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities and Services Coordinator to join our team at Florida East Coast Railway. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing and coordinating activities of contracted services, performing miscellaneous painting and building maintenance repairs, and providing company and postal mail services for the General Offices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Coordinate Contracted Services: Direct, coordinate, and review the work of contracted services to ensure timely and efficient completion of tasks.
  • Evaluate and Improve Methods and Procedures: Evaluate and recommend changes in methods and procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Operate Postal Mail Machine: Operate the postal mail machine to process and distribute mail and packages.
  • Order Supplies and Materials: Order postal supplies and building repair materials as needed.
  • Ensure Safety Specifications: Ensure that contracted services follow safety specifications and guidelines.
  • Operate Power Tools: Operate various power tools to perform tasks such as cutting and finishing.
  • Perform Maintenance and Repairs: Perform maintenance and repairs on buildings, partitions, floors, doors, and other facilities.
  • Install and Replace Items: Install and replace items such as glass in windows, doors, and partitions, and ceiling tile, floor tile, and wall coverings.
  • Install Electrical Wiring: Install basic electrical wiring of equipment operating on single-phase energy at less than 120 volts.
  • Miscellaneous Activities: Perform miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by the manager.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Direct Supervision: Directly supervise contracted services, including appraising performance, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
Qualifications
  • Valid Driver's License: Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Microsoft Office Proficiency: Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Education and Experience: High school education or degree from technical school, or its equivalent; three years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret common technical journals, and respond to common inquiries, complaints, or questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems and take appropriate corrective actions.
