Job Title: Assistant Community Director

Join American Property Management, a family-owned leader in property management, as an Assistant Community Director. We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team at Olympia Apartments in Olympia, WA.

About the Role

This is a full-time position requiring a physical presence at the job location during scheduled hours. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in the multifamily/student housing industry, with a strong background in customer service and a proven track record of success in leasing and renewal.

Key Responsibilities
  • Connect with prospects via email, phone, and appointments to showcase the community's amenities and services.
  • Work closely with colleagues to build rapport with residents and create a sense of community.
  • Assist in addressing resident concerns and facilitating healthy resident relations.
  • Research and forecast market trends to prepare for upcoming opportunities and challenges.
  • Contribute to running property operations by preparing reports for the Community Director.
  • Build upon the community's sense of community by organizing events and ensuring they meet APM's Quality Standards.
  • Manage the leasing and renewal process by handling transactions, taking accurate information, and keeping records organized.

Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience in the multifamily/student housing industry.
  • 1+ years of experience as an assistant manager at an apartment community.
  • LIHTC/Affordable Housing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Federal Fair Housing Laws, Landlord/Tenant Laws, and ADA laws preferred.
  • Customer service experience required.
  • On-site and/or Knock experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in effective communication and teamwork.
  • Maintains a positive outlook and embraces a collaborative team approach.
  • Fluent in English, with strong reading, speaking, and writing skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
