Role Overview:
The Patient Access Coordinator I plays a crucial role in our front office operations. As the initial point of contact, this position is responsible for fostering a welcoming atmosphere for all internal and external customers while ensuring that all pre and post-appointment tasks are executed with precision and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assists patients throughout the registration process by verifying patient demographics and insurance details to ensure accuracy for payment processing and billing.
3. Maintains an accurate cash drawer, prepares daily deposits, and follows practice closing procedures.
4. Follows scheduling guidelines for the clinic.
5. Manages referral and testing appointments.
6. Adheres to office procedures for incoming communications and coordinates necessary follow-ups.
7. Obtains pre-certifications as required and notifies the pre-certification coordinator for follow-up.
8. Ensures a positive guest experience by adhering to service protocols.
9. Provides general clerical support, including handling paperwork, medical records, faxes, scans, and filing.
10. Sends new patient packets and contacts new patients prior to their scheduled appointments, adhering to no-show policies and promptly sending notifications for no-shows.
11. Performs other duties as reasonably required or assigned.

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Preferred:
Graduate of a certified medical office training program.

Experience in customer service or administrative roles, preferably in a medical office setting.
