Job Title: Program Manager/Craft Master

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Manager/Craft Master to join our team at UIC Alaska. As a key member of our proposal effort, you will be responsible for leading maintenance operations and ensuring the smooth execution of our maintenance plans.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage maintenance operations, including planned maintenance system (PMS) actions and corrective maintenance or repair at various levels.
  • Develop and maintain a database of vendors and sources for leasing or renting boats, vessels, ROVs, and test support equipment.
  • Coordinate with team members to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Assist with facility maintenance and upkeep, including sweeping, general organization, and housekeeping.
  • Perform other duties as required to prepare the ship for long-term afloat storage.
Qualifications:
  • At least 9+ years of experience in managing and supervising personnel, material, and day-to-day operations in port and at-sea.
  • Licensed and certified as specified in PWS paragraph, with the ability to perform Craft Master functions in port or at-sea.
  • Experience in crane operations and at-sea rigging.
  • Current United States Coast Guard (USCG) 100 Ton Master license or Navy 100 Ton Craft Master.
  • Ability to run tracks within +/- 10 meters over 1,000 meters while towing instruments behind the craft, hold station in open water within 10 meters, conduct restricted maneuvering, and precision navigation within Global Positioning System (GPS) accuracy.
  • Experience towing various arrays such as side scan sonar(s) and other test equipment and assets.
  • Basic skills/use of hand and power tools.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.
Physical Demands:
  • Must be able to lift up to 10 to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time.
  • Must be able to twist, bend, and squat periodically.
