Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team at Atrium Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians and Advanced Care Practitioners with patient care, including vital signs, medication administration, and documentation.
  • Pre-visit planning and patient intake/rooming, including reviewing medication history and updating medication lists.
  • Point of Care testing (POCT) and performing Quality Control and maintenance for Point of Care in-office lab procedures.
  • Assist with appointment scheduling, prescription refills, and referral authorization as needed.
  • Participate in electronic documentation of care and complete CLIA-approved waived laboratory tests and practice-specific diagnostic testing.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Current American Heart Association (AHA) BLS certification required.
  • Must possess one of the following: completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, intermediate EMT or Paramedic Program with 3 years prior clinical experience, structured military training, or graduate of an Accredited School of Professional Nursing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • National Certification Medical Association.
