Teaching Opportunity

A teaching position is available at Meliora Academy, a private day school serving students with autism spectrum and related disorders.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment with a team of professionals who are dedicated to providing individualized instruction and support to students.

We utilize evidence-based interventions, including applied behavior analysis, to help students reach their maximum potential. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with students with special needs and possess strong communication skills for effectively engaging with students, parents, and staff.

We offer a competitive salary range of $78,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year, depending on education and experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package that includes paid time off, health insurance, and retirement plan options.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student.
  • Monitor student progress and make necessary adjustments to keep students on track for success.
  • Manage challenging behaviors and implement behavior support plans.
  • Work closely with colleagues to build a supportive learning environment.
  • Advocate for students' rights and needs, ensuring compliance with educational laws.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in special education or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing IEPs.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with students, parents, and staff.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team.
