Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Human Resources Assistant to join our team at Career Systems Development Corporation. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing complex clerical tasks and human resources duties, ensuring the smooth operation of our HR functions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to the Company Core Values and operating principles, demonstrating individual accountability, growth, respect, integrity, commitment, and safety.
  • Enter employee information into our computerized human resources system, including personal data, compensation, benefits, training, attendance, and merits. Perform regular system backups.
  • Review employment applications for accuracy and prescreen candidates.
  • Conduct benefit and policy orientations with new hires.
  • Maintain all employee personnel files and records, adhering to Company policy and PRH requirements.
  • Update employee files to document personnel transactions and provide information to the Finance Department for payroll purposes.
  • Assist with pre-employment reference checks, background checks, and drug screens as required by Company policy.
  • Respond to external inquiries by analyzing employee files and providing information to authorized personnel.
  • Prepare job postings, letters, reports, memorandums, and performance appraisals.
  • Proofread and correct grammatical, spelling, and punctuation errors.
  • Gather and compile data from personnel records and prepare required reports.
  • Maintain EEO/AAP logs and publish the center staff newsletter.
  • May assist in developing the center's Affirmative Action Plan.
Requirements:

Qualifications:

Minimum: High school graduate or equivalent, with one year of work-related experience and one year in a complex clerical capacity.

Preferred: Previous HR and payroll experience.

Knowledge: Proficient in operating a personal computer, with working knowledge of word processing and math spreadsheet software applications. Ability to type accurately at a moderate speed. Familiarity with basic EEO/AAP legislation and knowledge of interviewing skills.

Physical Requirements:

Frequently: Sitting, seeing, hearing, speaking.

Occasionally: Standing, walking, bending, stooping, squatting, flexibility.

Seldom: Climbing, lifting 50 pounds, carrying, kneeling, pushing/pulling, running, driving.

Environmental Demands:

Ability to operate office equipment, occasional work alone, 85% of time spent working and interacting with team and other departments.

Ability to read and write at a college level.
