Job Summary

Desert Diamond Casinos and Entertainment is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surveillance Operations Manager to oversee the operations and administration of the Surveillance department at our Sahuarita and Tucson locations. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong leadership and management skills, as well as a deep understanding of surveillance and security principles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and analyze daily shift reports, incident reports, and investigation summaries to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Conduct thorough investigations and crime analysis to identify trends and patterns.
  • Oversee the integrity and chain of evidence of all video and digital evidence related to investigations.
  • Develop and implement training programs for Surveillance department staff on internal and external cheating and theft techniques, advantage play techniques, surveillance techniques, and other relevant topics.
  • Stay up-to-date on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, including those related to National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC), Arizona Department of Gaming (ADOG), and Tohono O'odham Gaming Office (TOGO).
  • Testify in court as needed to provide expert testimony on observed and recorded criminal activity.
  • Approve shift schedules and ensure accurate attendance records for Surveillance department staff.
  • Implement and train staff on procedures, forms, and logs in the Surveillance department.
  • Update and maintain all information for Surveillance on relevant databases.
  • Oversee the digital system and utilize data to inform management decisions.
  • Supervise the daily activities of Surveillance department staff.
  • Prepare documentation of findings and submit recommendations to the Surveillance Director.
  • Develop and maintain filing systems for pending and completed investigations.
  • Conduct performance evaluations for Surveillance department staff.
  • Maintain a positive and professional work environment and ensure good communication with team members.
  • Ensure adequate coverage for all shifts and ensure all surveillance equipment is functioning properly.
  • Ensure all video logs and reports are completed and all gaming irregularities are reported to the Tohono O'odham Gaming Office.
  • Assist in internal and external investigations conducted by the Tohono O'odham Gaming Office or authorized Law Enforcement Agency.
  • Operate and monitor surveillance equipment.
  • Contribute to a team effort and accomplish related results as required.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Criminal Justice Sciences, Business, or a related field, plus 5 years of casino surveillance experience in a supervisory capacity.
  • Equivalent combination of education and progressive, relevant, and direct experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirement.
  • No felony, theft, or stealing convictions.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen, background investigation, obtain and maintain a gaming license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge and training in investigative procedures and techniques.
  • Knowledge and training in interviewing and interrogation techniques.
  • Knowledge and training in internal and external cheating and theft techniques, casino game protection techniques, card counting and advantage play techniques, and casino surveillance techniques.
  • Knowledge and ability of leadership, management, training, mentoring, and coaching techniques.
  • Knowledge of surveillance systems, cameras, and digital recording equipment.
  • Knowledge of safety operations and procedures, safety methods and practices, and public/customer service skills in a casino environment.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal, state, county, and local laws, regulations, and requirements.
  • Knowledge of business English, proper spelling, grammar, punctuation, and basic arithmetic.
  • Knowledge of Policies and Procedures.
  • Knowledge of fraud detection.
  • Ability to operate surveillance equipment.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to operate a two-way radio.
  • Ability to work in a stressful, fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate, read, and write clearly in English.
  • Ability to demonstrate outstanding guest service at all times.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with individuals of varying social and cultural backgrounds and with team members at all levels.
