Contract Speech Language Pathologist

We are seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team as a contract therapist. As a Speech Language Pathologist with Healthcare Staffing Plus, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of patients and clients, providing high-quality care and services.
Responsibilities- Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, social communication, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders in adults and geriatric populations.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide comprehensive care and services.
- Conduct evaluations and assessments to identify communication and swallowing disorders.
- Develop and implement treatment plans to address communication and swallowing disorders.
- Provide education and training to patients, families, and healthcare professionals on communication and swallowing disorders.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and services.
- NYS License and registration in Speech/Language Pathology.
- BLS required.
- Experience working with geriatric populations.
- Completed at least 1 successful traveler assignment.
- COVID vaxx required.
- BLS and ACLS.
- National Institutes of Health (NIH).
- Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) Certification.
- Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
- The ability to stand for extended periods.
- Strong technical skills.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Passionate about patient care.
- Requires a minimum of two years of current Speech Language Pathologist Telemetry experience.
- Graduate from a fully accredited SLP program.
- Active unencumbered Speech Language Pathologist California state license.
- One year of Epic experience.
- Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.
- Participates in relevant continuing education programs.
- Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.
- Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.
- A can-do, team-oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.
- Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
