About the Role:
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to fill several part-time Seasonal Aquatic Safety Officer positions at Oakland Parks and Recreation Aquatic Centers for both seasonal and year-round opportunities. Aquatic Safety Officers play a vital role in ensuring the safety of facility patrons, offering swim instruction, and fostering positive community relationships at our centers.
Ideal Candidates Will Be:
- Customer Service Focused: Deliver outstanding service that leaves a lasting positive impression on patrons.
- Collaborative Team Members: Work effectively across departments and with the community to fulfill our mission.
- Engaged in Community Initiatives: Actively participate in the Oakland community.
- Enforcing facility regulations and ensuring the safety of all patrons.
- Completing necessary documentation and reports.
- Assisting with facility maintenance and patron registration.
- Maintaining positive relationships within the community.
- Completion of at least the eighth grade.
- Current Red Cross certification in CPR for Lifeguards with AED or CPR for the Professional Rescuer with AED, Lifeguard Training, and First Aid.
- Applicants must be at least sixteen years of age.
Work Permits: Minors must comply with state employment guidelines when working with the City of Oakland.
Supplemental Information: This is an ongoing recruitment process, and selected candidates may be required to undergo language proficiency assessments.
