Job Title: Safety Intern

Join Turner Construction as a Safety Intern and gain hands-on experience in the field of environmental health and safety. As a member of our team, you will assist in implementing safety programs, conducting site inspections, and promoting a culture of safety among our employees and subcontractors.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the implementation of Turner's safety program, including Building L.I.F.E. and project-specific safety initiatives.
  • Conduct site inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of safety training programs for employees and subcontractors.
  • Participate in the administration of Turner's drug screening program.
  • Assist in maintaining safety records, including pre-task plans, job hazard analyses, and incident investigations.
Requirements:
  • Working towards a four-year degree in Occupational Safety and Health, engineering, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of safety and environmental principles and techniques.
  • Computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office suite programs.
  • Developing leadership characteristics and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
Work Environment:

As a Safety Intern, you will work in an office or on-site at construction work sites, where you will be exposed to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud.
