LPN Float Pool Specialist

Ochsner Health System is seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Float Pool team. As an LPN in this role, you will provide direct care to patients within the framework of the Licensed Practical Nurse Act under the direction of a registered nurse.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct care to patients, including administering IV therapy, and assisting with assigned duties.
- Direct and assist ancillary nursing staff as needed.
- Interact with the multidisciplinary team and other personnel to ensure seamless patient care.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and clean environment for patients.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
- Current licensed practical nurse (LPN) license in the state of practice.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
- Preferred: IV Therapy Credentials.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year of relevant experience.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Delegation skills and ability to maintain confidential information.
The incumbent works in a patient care area, is exposed to blood, body fluids, and tissue, and has an occupational risk for exposure to all communicable diseases.
The physical demands of this job include frequently exerting 10 to 20 pounds of force to move objects and occasionally exerting up to 100 pounds of force.
