About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our team at GEICO. As a key member of our engineering staff, you will play a critical role in driving our insurance business transformation by designing and building scalable, resilient distributed systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Design and Development: Scope, design, and build high-performance platforms and applications that meet the needs of our customers.
  • Technical Leadership: Lead design sessions and code reviews with peers to elevate the quality of engineering across the organization.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Engage in cross-functional collaboration throughout the entire software lifecycle to ensure seamless delivery of high-quality technology products and services.
  • Technical Expertise: Utilize programming languages like Python, C#, and SQL, as well as NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration services, and Azure tools and services.
  • Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing: Mentor other engineers and consistently share best practices and improve processes within and across teams.
Requirements
  • Advanced Programming Experience: 4+ years of professional software development experience within the.NET framework, including C#, Visual Studio, SQL Server, ASP.NET, MVC, Web API, and REST.
  • Microservices Architecture: Proven understanding of microservices-oriented architecture and extensible REST APIs.
  • DevOps and Cloud Experience: Advanced understanding of DevOps concepts, including Azure DevOps framework and tools, and experience with cloud services such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Problem-Solving and Communication Skills: Strong problem-solving ability and excellent communication skills to excel in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education or work experience.
  • Experience: 4+ years of professional software development experience, with 3+ years of experience with architecture and design, and 2+ years of experience in open-source frameworks.
