About the Role:

Daifuku Airport America Corporation is seeking a skilled System Integration Engineer to join our team. As a System Integration Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and integrating semi-complex systems that incorporate Daifuku's Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) for various applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform system integration of AGVs, AMRs, and peripheral equipment at customer locations.
  • Design, install, test, debug, and commission systems.
  • Review and interpret customer project specifications.
  • Author design specification documents for projects.
  • Create system layout drawings, renderings, and illustrations.
  • Develop system code.
  • Calculate equipment performance requirements.
  • Interface with customers and collaborate with other teams on projects.
  • Participate in simulation and emulation as needed.
  • Ensure systems are designed to meet intended levels of function, durability, and cost.
  • Prepare RFQ and specification documentation for equipment and machinery.
  • Evaluate technical risks of projects.
  • Identify and raise issues that may impact project quality, scope, timing, and cost.
  • Present material handling technical solutions to customers and internal teams.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements.
  • Analyze system operational data to identify performance improvement opportunities.
  • Define preliminary project schedules.
  • Estimate system costs.
  • Provide ROI assessments for projects.

Requirements:

  • 3 years of direct experience in system integration and/or automated material handling systems.
  • A.S. in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • B.S. in Engineering (Electrical/Industrial/Mechanical/Mechatronics/Robotics/Computer Science) or a related field is preferred.
  • AGV/AMR, Mobile Robotics, Automation, Controls Engineering, PLC programming, and System Integration experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of electrical wiring troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of ANSI B56.5 specification.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).
  • Proficient in AutoCAD is preferred.

Physical Abilities:

Visits to customer locations may require negotiating through industrial facilities, including conveyor systems, climbing access ladders, negotiating screen guards, catwalks, and lifting and/or carrying objects up to 40 lbs.
