APUS System Integration Engineer I

About the Role:
Daifuku Airport America Corporation is seeking a skilled System Integration Engineer to join our team. As a System Integration Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and integrating semi-complex systems that incorporate Daifuku's Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) for various applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform system integration of AGVs, AMRs, and peripheral equipment at customer locations.
- Design, install, test, debug, and commission systems.
- Review and interpret customer project specifications.
- Author design specification documents for projects.
- Create system layout drawings, renderings, and illustrations.
- Develop system code.
- Calculate equipment performance requirements.
- Interface with customers and collaborate with other teams on projects.
- Participate in simulation and emulation as needed.
- Ensure systems are designed to meet intended levels of function, durability, and cost.
- Prepare RFQ and specification documentation for equipment and machinery.
- Evaluate technical risks of projects.
- Identify and raise issues that may impact project quality, scope, timing, and cost.
- Present material handling technical solutions to customers and internal teams.
- Recommend and implement process improvements.
- Analyze system operational data to identify performance improvement opportunities.
- Define preliminary project schedules.
- Estimate system costs.
- Provide ROI assessments for projects.
Requirements:
- 3 years of direct experience in system integration and/or automated material handling systems.
- A.S. in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- B.S. in Engineering (Electrical/Industrial/Mechanical/Mechatronics/Robotics/Computer Science) or a related field is preferred.
- AGV/AMR, Mobile Robotics, Automation, Controls Engineering, PLC programming, and System Integration experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of electrical wiring troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of ANSI B56.5 specification.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).
- Proficient in AutoCAD is preferred.
Physical Abilities:
Visits to customer locations may require negotiating through industrial facilities, including conveyor systems, climbing access ladders, negotiating screen guards, catwalks, and lifting and/or carrying objects up to 40 lbs.
