Overview

AmeriGas, the nation's largest propane distributor, seeks a skilled Service Technician to join our team. As a local Service Technician, you will play a vital role in installing and repairing propane tanks for our customers while ensuring the highest standards of safety and customer service.

Compensation

The hourly rate starts at $23.50 per hour, depending on circumstances including an applicant's skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, market data, and other relevant factors. Additional compensation includes eligibility to earn a performance-based bonus or commissions on completed sales.

Job Description

You will be responsible for:

  • Safely operating a propane service vehicle with lift gate and boom along provided service routes
  • Performing repairs on existing propane tanks for commercial and residential customers
  • Installing new propane tanks/systems for commercial and residential customers
  • On an as-needed basis, performing Delivery Representative functions, such as delivering bulk or canister propane
  • Performing all daily functions in a safe manner by adhering to all federal and state codes and regulations in addition to all AmeriGas Safety and Operations Policies and Procedures
  • Consistent use of required Personal Protective Equipment
Required Skills and Qualifications

We are looking for candidates who have:

  • A valid class A or B CDL. Must be willing to obtain hazmat and tanker endorsements; reimbursements provided
  • An acceptable driving record
  • Satisfactory completion of a DOT physical, drug test and background check
  • The willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • The ability to lift up to 70lbs
