LOCATION:
SUMMARY:

Under the general guidance of the Vice President of Retail Operations, the Retail Operations Leader is accountable for the comprehensive management of store functions, including collection, processing, sales, financial performance, loss prevention, and team management. This role involves overseeing a team of more than ten sales associates at any given time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

STORE MANAGEMENT:
Oversee the efficient handling and processing of incoming and outgoing materials, including donations and merchandise from various sources.

Maximize the processing of used goods through effective sorting, preparation, and pricing strategies. Consistently meet or exceed production targets.

Enhance sales performance through strategic rotation, pricing, display, signage, promotions, and inventory management. Consistently achieve or surpass sales objectives.

Ensure exceptional customer service is delivered by yourself and your team to all shoppers and donors. Be accessible for customer relations activities.

Manage supported employment work crews and community service workers effectively.

Maintain a clean and inviting sales floor environment, ensuring all areas, including fitting rooms and customer service areas, are well-kept.

FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT:
Efficiently manage the store budget, including payroll, achieving processing goals, generating revenue, and controlling expenses.

Ensure proper cash management practices are followed, including cash register procedures and report submissions.

SAFETY AND SECURITY:
Maintain a clean and hazard-free store environment, ensuring all health and safety protocols are understood and adhered to by all employees.

Designate areas for merchandise staging and ensure that all pathways are clear for safety.

SUPERVISORY DUTIES:
Recruit, train, and supervise store personnel to maintain an effective workforce. Foster a positive work environment and manage employee performance through regular assessments.

Ensure timely completion of store reports and personnel status changes.

OTHER DUTIES:
Perform necessary banking transactions related to store operations and respond to alarm notifications as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED, with a minimum of three years of relevant experience, including supervisory roles. Must be at least 18 years old.

SKILLS:
Ability to interpret safety rules and procedure manuals, write routine reports, and communicate effectively with customers and staff.

Basic knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Regularly required to stand, walk, and lift items weighing up to 25 pounds frequently, and occasionally up to 100 pounds. Must be able to assist customers with heavy items and maintain a safe working environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment is typically fast-paced with regular deadlines. Employees may be exposed to various conditions typical of a retail setting.
