Achieve Rehab and Nursing Facility is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Director of Nursing to join our team. As a key member of our nursing leadership team, you will be responsible for assisting the Director of Nursing Services in planning, developing, and implementing the day-to-day functions of the nursing service department.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in developing, maintaining, and updating written policies and procedures that govern the day-to-day functions of the nursing service department.
- Ensure that reference material is current and easily accessible to nursing staff.
- Recommend written material to the Director to assist the nursing service department in meeting the day-to-day needs of residents.
- In the absence of the Director, serve on and participate in various committees of the facility, including Infection Control, Policy Advisory, Pharmaceutical, Budget, Quality Assurance & Assessment, etc.
- Assist the Director in preparing written and/or oral reports of the nursing service programs and activities to submit to committees.
- Respond to staffing shortages by arranging for replacement staff.
- Track infection control, exposure control, and resident care trends to provide proactive improvement.
- Identify areas of concern and offer recommendations and suggestions to the Director of Nursing.
- Inform Central Supply of any supplies that are needed.
- Long Term Care experience is highly preferred.
- Must possess and maintain a current New York license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
- Experience as an Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) is required.
- Must be able to move, lift, and position patients.
