Job Summary

Ferring Pharmaceuticals Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Director of Government Pricing and Reimbursement to lead the related areas and report to the Senior Director, Market Access. This role requires a strong understanding of health economics, financial analysis, US Pricing, and Government affairs / policy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage government price calculation and submission processes
  • Administer government contracts and assess and payment of managed care and government rebates
  • Administer and support pricing across channels for all inline and launch products
  • Lead the Government Pricing area including external vendors to ensure accurate calculations of monthly/quarterly pricing reports and submissions
  • Drive initiatives and direction to optimize company net revenue as it relates to government pricing impact
  • Work with offer development team to calculate, forecast, and provide insights for external ASP reporting (CMS Payment Allowance basis)
  • Lead the development of long-term price and contracting administration processes procedures
  • Work closely with Managed Care Field teams and offer development colleagues to develop plans to effectively evaluate contract options that impact any government payers, impacted health systems, Long Term Care, federal markets, Medicaid, and Medicare
  • Lead efforts to communicate WAC prices and pricing rebate programs for in line and newly launched products, including compendia reporting as well as State price transparency law communications
  • Manage the accurate payment of all Ferring commercial and government rebates, as well as all commercial administrative fees and wholesaler/distributor service fee payments
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required; Graduate Degree preferred
  • 12+ years' experience in the US pharmaceutical industry with an emphasis in pricing, finance, and/or market access
  • Minimum of 6 years in pharmaceutical Government pricing
  • Clear understanding of health economics, financial analysis, US Pricing, and Government affairs / policy
  • Experience using knowledge to diagnose business strengths and weaknesses, and to identify threats and business opportunities
  • Understanding of buy and bill reimbursement / Medical benefit adjudication
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with all levels of management including field sales, marketing, medical affairs, regulatory, and vendor partners
  • Previous direct report leadership experience preferred
  • Position requires maturity, patience, analytical, excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
  • Works across and influences multiple functions including marketing, account management, regulatory, business analytics, legal, finance, third party logistics, and consulting partners
  • Works across all therapeutic areas
  • Strong planning and modeling skills
  • Can communicate complex calculations and strategies at an executive level
  • Continual education on key industry trends that may impact Ferring business
  • Manages Vendors and Consultants
  • Travel 10-20%
  • Strong computer skills: Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.
