Position Overview

Cal Voices is in search of a dedicated full-time Community Support Program Coordinator for its Consumer Operated Warmline initiative. This role is pivotal in delivering culturally-sensitive peer support and connection services to individuals in the community. Under the guidance of the Program Manager, the Coordinator will engage with clients through the Warm Line, providing essential support and resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to incoming calls from clients, offering reassurance and guidance.
  • Facilitate referrals and link clients to appropriate community resources.
  • Attend Suicide Prevention meetings and collaborate with various stakeholders to enhance recovery-oriented services.
  • Assist individuals and families in developing Wellness and Recovery Action Plans to improve their quality of care.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of community resources and recovery-based services.
  • Adapt to a dynamic work environment, managing multiple tasks and shifting priorities effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Personal Experience: Candidates must have personal lived experience of recovery from a behavioral health challenge or have served as a primary caretaker for someone with complex behavioral health needs.
  • Education: A high school diploma or equivalent, along with current Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification or relevant peer support training.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of California's Public Behavioral Health System, the Mental Health Services Act, and core recovery principles.
  • Additional Preferences: Bilingual candidates or those from traditionally underserved populations are encouraged to apply.

Work Environment:

This position requires regular onsite work, with the potential for occasional additional hours based on program needs. The Coordinator will engage in both virtual and in-person meetings, utilizing digital tools for communication and documentation.
