Summary

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Electro-Mechanical Assembly Technician to join our team at Plasma-Therm. In this role, you will play a vital part in the assembly, calibration, and testing of complex electro-mechanical systems used in advanced electronics manufacturing.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment adhering to 5S principles.
  • Assemble intricate electrical and mechanical assemblies according to detailed drawings, schematics, and technical specifications using hand tools and specialized equipment.
  • Perform precise mechanical alignments and calibrations of equipment to ensure adherence to quality standards and test procedures.
  • Conduct leak detection on vacuum assemblies utilizing helium leak detection equipment to verify system integrity.
  • Utilize a multimeter for electrical testing and troubleshooting.
  • Debug and resolve issues within electrical, mechanical, and vacuum systems to facilitate power-up and data collection. Accurately record test results.
  • Document any mechanical or electrical failures and discrepancies encountered during the assembly and testing process.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Prepare systems for shipment by cleaning, disassembling, creating packing lists, and coordinating with shipping personnel.
  • Optimize material flow for work-in-progress projects to ensure efficient production.
  • Operate packaging/shipping equipment, including forklifts, after completing approved training courses.
Qualifications
  • Associate's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent military training is preferred.
  • Five or more years of hands-on experience as a technician in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience within the semiconductor equipment industry is highly advantageous.
Skills and Abilities
  • Proficiency in interpreting assembly drawings, schematics, technical manuals, and other relevant documentation.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow safety regulations, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Strong mathematical skills for problem-solving in a technical context.
  • Expertise in using hand tools such as crimpers, torque wrenches, vacuum leak detectors, soldering irons, and other assembly/test equipment.
  • Working knowledge of Windows Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and adapt to changing priorities.
Work Environment and Physical Demands

The typical work environment is a clean room facility, along with support areas such as stockrooms, workshops, and offices. The role may require standing for extended periods, lifting moderate weights, and working in close proximity to equipment.
