Job Summary

SummitHR is seeking an experienced Construction Manager IV to lead our college facilities projects. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of construction, from mobilization to closeout.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Oversee and coordinate all facets of construction, including mobilization, construction, and closeout.
  • Team Leadership: Plan, organize, direct, and report construction management activities and progress to upper management.
  • Contract Administration: Perform day-to-day contract administration, including bid analysis, pre-construction meetings, and related award coordinating activities.
  • Communication: Manage and coordinate project team and contractors in communicating directives and ensuring the project scope is built according to plans, specifications, and cost limits.
  • Financial Management: Review applications for payment, and perform fiscal management of project resources.
  • Quality Control: Review submittals from contractors to ensure specification requirements are met.
  • Change Management: Negotiate with contractors to achieve a fair and reasonable cost for change orders and review their impact on the project.
Requirements
  • Experience: 10 years' experience in Construction Management of Commercial and/or Public Facilities.
  • Education: BS or BA in Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning, Construction Management, or a closely related field.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BIM Experience: Experience utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM).
  • LEED Certification: Experience with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified projects and/or the Collaborative for High Performing Schools (CHPS).
  • Professional Certifications: A valid Certificate of Registration as a Professional Engineer or licensed Architect in the State of California or a valid Certified Construction Manager (CCM) credential by the Construction Manager Certification Institute (CMCI).
