Job Summary

The Quality Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the quality of our construction projects. This position requires a strong understanding of the design and construction process, as well as excellent leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Project Team Support
    • Lead or support the project constructability review prior to and during construction, focusing on high-risk or complex areas such as structural steel, concrete, glazing, sheet metal, and waterproofing.
  • Coordinate and problem-solve BIM applications in all areas of BIM management, working with consultants and overseas asset engagement.
  • Attend BIM clash meetings to ensure project teams have the necessary tools to make informed decisions.
  • Ensure projects have the appropriate consultant review, inspection, and follow-up, including assisting in buyout, coordination, and leading the discussion of consultant involvement.
  • Understand the roles and responsibilities of various teams to support the quality culture, which is everyone's responsibility.
Preconstruction Planning
  • Provide plan review via Bluebeam and 3D model directional comments.
  • Ensure the project team has an organized method to deliver comments to the design team and owner, participating in and leading discussions as needed.
  • Coordinate the use of third-party peer review for constructability quality review, establishing budgets and timelines for these efforts.
  • Provide buyout assistance for higher-risk scopes, including creating buyout packages, managing descope meetings, and supporting final selection.
Construction
  • Participate in coordination meetings where subject matter experts are needed, such as exterior/roof, interior framing, QCS meetings, and site work verification of design.
  • Provide additional constructability reviews on specific areas of the project to assist with coordination.
  • Assist project teams in the selection and management of third-party review consultants and testing procedures.
  • Proactively advise and make recommendations to the Director of Operations and Director of Quality for quality issues.

  • Experience must be in commercial, hospitality, or educational project types, with a focus on projects valued at $40M or higher and incorporating BIM.
