Key Responsibilities:

In this role, you will be expected to:

• Utilize your expertise to identify, analyze, and resolve engineering and design challenges.
• Plan, organize, estimate, schedule, and monitor work activities effectively.
• Produce thorough and precise technical documentation, including reports, correspondence, calculations, and sketches.
• Commit to continuous improvement in your engineering knowledge and skills.
• Exhibit strong oral and written communication abilities.
• Develop and interpret civil-structural drawing packages for substations, adhering to national codes and industry standards.
• Represent the company positively and uphold its goals.
• Engage with clients’ internal engineers and technical staff regularly.
• Foster and maintain professional relationships with clients.
• Monitor project deliverables and schedules, presenting solutions to clients as necessary.
• Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

Work Complexity:

This position involves complex tasks with established procedures that may not always be available, requiring significant decision-making capabilities.

External Relationships:

You will influence decisions of moderate significance, necessitating a high degree of tact and professionalism.

Supervisory Role:

While there are no direct reports, you will mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and those outside your discipline.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, you should possess:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 5-7 years of engineering experience within the electrical industry, particularly in power delivery.
• Strong language skills for interpreting technical documents and effectively communicating with various stakeholders.
• Proficiency in mathematical concepts applicable to engineering tasks.
• Reasoning ability to interpret complex technical instructions and manage multiple variables.

Desired Skills:

• Ability to create and implement engineering drawings based on specifications.
• Experience in developing civil engineering drawing packages for substations.
• Skills in project scope creation, budgeting, and scheduling for substation projects.
• Proficiency in performing calculations for various foundation types and designing containment systems.
• Capability to analyze structures using modeling software and mentor junior staff.
• Experience in collaborating with diverse teams and clients to ensure project success.

Physical and Work Environment:

This role may involve occasional outdoor work and exposure to various environmental conditions. The noise level is typically moderate.
