General Overview: The A/V Administrator operates under general supervision to assess and enhance the audio-visual network infrastructure of the organization. This role includes providing technical support for audio-visual, multimedia, and video services during various events, including meetings, conferences, and training sessions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates the requirements for and designs integrated video communication systems to improve operational efficiency.
  • Manages, troubleshoots, and maintains multimedia equipment, including projectors, monitors, audio systems, cameras, and videoconferencing tools.
  • Offers on-site technical assistance during meetings for audio, video, and streaming services.
  • Facilitates point-to-point and multi-site videoconferencing sessions.
  • Oversees the post-production process and ensures the final delivery of video content.
  • Conducts general video editing and performs quality control checks on video materials.
  • Ensures the connectivity of equipment, networks, and computers to audio-visual systems is optimal.
  • Installs, configures, and maintains streaming video servers and audio recording systems.
  • Researches and recommends purchases of audio-visual equipment and system components.
  • Creates user manuals and provides training on the operation of multimedia and videoconferencing tools.
  • Keeps accurate records and logs for analysis and reporting purposes.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Supervises contractors to ensure quality and compliance with standards.
  • Provides support during after-hours and weekends as necessary.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Work Environment: The position is based in a standard office setting.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Extensive knowledge of network management and design principles.
  • Familiarity with audio and video communication technologies.
  • Proficiency in technical writing and documentation practices.
  • Ability to edit audio and video content effectively and communicate clearly.

Minimum Qualifications: A bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in information technology, computer science, or a related discipline, along with four years of relevant experience.

Substitution Policy: Additional professional experience in audio-visual equipment setup, design, and operation may be considered in lieu of the required educational background.

Promotional Criteria:

  • Completion of two years of service as an A/V Analyst.
  • Possession of civil service status as an A/V Analyst.
