Director Training Program Overview

Our Director role is designed to provide a rich development opportunity for high-caliber candidates. This hands-on leadership position will require time spent working in restaurant operations (Guest-facing and Kitchen). Our vision at Chick-fil-A Bucktown is to be Chicago's most caring company.

About the Role

As a leader in this development program, you will have the opportunity to develop the necessary skills and competencies to operate as part of a high-performance leadership team. Candidates will be exposed to one-on-one mentoring, leadership meetings, and future leadership events to grow professionally.

Program Structure

The program is divided into four phases:

  • Phase I: Operational Onboarding (0-4 months) - Learn the restaurant operations, including Guest Experience and Culinary Process.
  • Phase II: Team Leadership (4-12 months) - Develop leadership skills, including Shift Team Leadership and Special Project Teams.
  • Phase III: Department Management - Learn and manage specific parts of the business, including Social Media, Catering, and Facilities.
  • Phase IV: Department Director - Develop into a Department Director, overseeing Talent, Training, Operations, Marketing, Financial Return, Kitchen, Hospitality, and Drive-Thru.

Additional Information

Compensation is based on a 40-hour workweek with 5 hours of approved overtime. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree (preferred) and experience in developing talent, coaching, performance conversations, and progressive discipline. Emotional intelligence, strong communication skills, and a proven track record of results-driven leadership are also essential. Full-time availability (40+ hours/week) is required, with a flexible schedule that includes Monday-Saturday and open-to-close hours.
