About This Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Associate Director of Nursing to join our team at Grassi. The successful candidate will be a key member of our nursing leadership team, responsible for assisting the Director of Nursing in planning, developing, and implementing the day-to-day functions of the Nursing Department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the nursing department, including staffing, scheduling, and resident care.
  • Lead the Nursing department's Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program.
  • Develop and implement nursing care plans, policies, and procedures as needed.
  • Ensure that nursing staff is qualified and trained, and that they are providing care in accordance with established standards and regulations.
  • Conduct performance evaluations of nursing staff and provide feedback and coaching to improve performance.
  • Develop, revise, and implement nursing policies and procedures as needed.
  • Communicate with families, residents, and physicians as needed.
  • Monitor the nursing department budget and ensure that resources are used efficiently.
  • Collaborate with ancillary departments to provide comprehensive care to residents.
  • Represent the nursing department at meetings and conferences as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations.
Requirements
  • A Master of Nursing preferred and a current Connecticut registration/licence as a registered nurse in good standing required.
  • Supervisory experience 3-5 years is required.
  • Experience of 3-5 years in a long-term care setting is required.
  • BCLS certified.
  • Strong knowledge of Infection Control/Antibiotic Stewardship practices.
  • Strong leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of State and Federal nursing home regulations.
