Position Overview

Hazen and Sawyer is looking for a skilled Engineer with 5-10+ years of expertise to enhance our capabilities in the Tampa, Florida office, specializing in the planning and design of water, wastewater, and stormwater conveyance systems.

The ideal candidate will possess experience in:

  • Design, construction, and rehabilitation of various pipeline sizes and types
  • Utilization of trenchless technologies
  • Conducting pipeline condition assessments and prioritization
  • Performing sewer system evaluation surveys and inflow/infiltration studies
  • Proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software, including InfoWorks and SWMM-based tools

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include project management, drafting assessment and design reports, executing design calculations, conducting hydraulic analyses, preparing construction documents, and supporting construction management and commissioning activities. Fieldwork and site visits may be necessary throughout the project lifecycle.

This role requires experience in project management or a strong desire to develop into a project management position. Opportunities for client development and management will increase with experience, supported by our local office and firm-wide technical resources.

Qualifications:

The minimum qualifications include a B.S. degree in Environmental, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering, with the ability to obtain a P.E. license in Florida within six months of employment. An MS degree is a plus. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for success in this role.
