Key Responsibilities:
The chosen candidate will be responsible for a variety of laboratory tasks, including mouse colony management, tissue dissections, molecular cloning, immunohistochemistry, and data analysis. Responsibilities also encompass general laboratory duties, maintaining the mouse colony, conducting experiments, analyzing data, and designing experiments under supervision.
- 5% General laboratory tasks such as preparing reagents and restocking supplies
- 15% Managing and breeding the mouse colony for experimental purposes
- 50% Executing experiments and imaging procedures
- 15% Analyzing data and preparing it for presentations
- 15% Reviewing scientific literature and planning experiments
Required Qualifications:
We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual who can work effectively in a collaborative team environment. The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong multitasking abilities and possess excellent communication skills.
Research Lab Technician Associate: An Associate's Degree is required with 0-1 year of experience (Bachelor's Degree preferred)
Research Lab Technician Intermediate: An Associate's Degree is required with 1-3 years of experience (Bachelor's Degree preferred)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Biology or a related field with relevant laboratory research experience
- Proficiency in various techniques including mouse husbandry, PCR, gel electrophoresis, tissue culture, molecular cloning, imaging techniques, and data analysis
Underfill Notice:
Depending on the qualifications of the candidate, this position may be filled at a lower level.
Background Check:
The University of Michigan conducts background checks and drug screenings on candidates after job offer acceptance. Third-party administrators may perform these screenings in compliance with regulatory standards. Pre-employment drug testing is mandatory for all successful candidates.
