As a pivotal member of the team that develops the M3/M4 SoCs at Apple, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our memory subsystem. This position involves overseeing the readiness of our custom SoCs' memory subsystems, which is essential for delivering innovative products that captivate the market. Your responsibilities will encompass managing the bring-up, validation, and intricate debugging processes of our advanced memory subsystems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a dynamic EPM team focused on resolving technical challenges to ensure timely silicon delivery aligned with ambitious product timelines.
- Develop comprehensive program plans for memory feature implementation and coordinate with cross-functional teams on validation and support strategies.
- Facilitate collaboration among various teams, including Design, Verification, Silicon Validation, Productization, and System Hardware and Software, to address memory-related silicon challenges.
- Direct debugging efforts in post-silicon environments, identify root causes of issues, and guide the team towards effective corrective actions.
- Maintain detailed reporting on issues, bug tracking, and program risks, providing updates at an executive level.
- Plan and oversee the integration of DRAM technologies, custom package development, and qualification processes with cross-functional teams.
- Collaborate closely with the DRAM Global Supply Management, DRAM & Package Engineering, and SoC Program Management teams to prioritize tasks.
- Engage in technical discussions with DRAM vendors regarding new technology developments, ensuring adherence to specifications and timelines.
- Coordinate with DRAM GSM and silicon material management teams to manage the distribution of new DRAM materials across all development systems.
- Foster collaboration between Design for Test (DFT), Product/Test/QA engineering, SiVal, and Systems teams during New Product Introduction (NPI) to finalize SoC performance objectives and screening requirements.
- Implement internal processes to ensure high-quality silicon execution.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience in SOC DRAM Memory Design, Validation, Architecture, or Test/Product Engineering.
Preferred Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of high-performance memory subsystems, including SoC memory architecture, advanced DDR controllers, PHY design, and high-speed IO interfaces, as well as DRAM devices and their calibration mechanisms.
- Experience in shipping high-volume DRAMs or SoCs.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary engineering environment, adept at multitasking and managing real-time crises.
- Exceptional debugging skills with a track record of resolving critical issues under pressure.
- Capability to comprehend complex technical discussions and derive actionable plans.
- Strong passion for driving project development with clearly defined metrics.
- Ability to succinctly summarize intricate details for executive-level reporting.
- Outstanding leadership qualities with a focus on inspiring team members and maintaining a broader perspective.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative approach.
- Previous experience with major DRAM memory vendors and validation of DRAM devices is advantageous.
