We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Staff Engineer to join our Performance Showering team at Kohler. As a key member of our cross-functional team, you will be responsible for delivering innovative consumer products that meet the highest standards of quality and performance.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with Product Marketing and Industrial Design to develop product specifications using consumer research, market data, and sales feedback.
- Establish system-level requirements for complex product families and collaborate with internal or external engineers on subsystem component design and integration.
- Study consumer behaviors and competitive products to develop solutions that provide innovative and/or increased value to customers.
- Provide high-level feasibility analysis on initial product concepts and refine them using 3D modeling software, FEA, and CFD.
- Coordinate concept development across mechanical, electrical, and software teams in multiple global regions and ensure best practices are applied efficiently to understand and optimize system design.
- Develop and refine concepts using 3D modeling software, FEA, and CFD, and leverage tools such as DFMEA and engineering design critiques to identify and eliminate or mitigate high-risk failure modes.
- Work with our internal manufacturing team and suppliers to balance cost, performance, quality, and project timing, and validate product value through consumer and/or human experience research.
- Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering (mechanical, electromechanical, or related field) with a minimum of 10 years of work experience.
- Significant experience with Creo Parametric and ability to coach best practices.
- Hands-on fabrication and prototyping skills.
- Strong technical judgment and technical communication.
- Excellent collaboration, influence, and negotiation skills.
- Proven ability to develop, motivate, and lead technical talent.
- International and domestic travel as needed.
