Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Specialist to join our team at Airgas. As a Sales Specialist, you will be responsible for selling medical gases, products, and services to medical establishments within a specific geographic area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sales and Marketing: Increase sales and profit margins by presenting Airgas's various medical product lines to new prospects and existing customers.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Develop and implement customer-specific marketing plans by studying the type of product and volume used by customers/prospects.
  • Proposal and Contract Development: Prepare sales proposals and contracts by quoting pricing, credit terms, and estimated date of delivery based on knowledge of Airgas's production and delivery schedules.
  • Training and Support: Act as a resource for other Airgas sales professionals in developing and maintaining medical sales within their customer base.
  • Market Research: Monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, and merchandising techniques.
  • Customer Complaint Resolution: Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing memos/reports, and making recommendations to management.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Maintain and submit activity and results reports as required.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business or related field. In lieu of degree, consideration for up to 4 years of additional sales-specific experience may be considered.
  • Experience: 3 years of prior solution-driven sales experience preferably within the industrial and specialty medical gas field.
  • Skills: Demonstrated relationship management and consultative selling aptitude with the ability to problem-solve and devise solutions for the customer.
  • Other Requirements: Ability to target accounts and achieve results through an action plan. Ability to build effective relationships with all levels and roles both within Airgas and outside the organization.
Working Conditions

The Sales Specialist will be required to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines. The employee may be required to remain stationary for extended periods of time, including sitting in an automobile for long periods of time. The job requires frequent use of a computer, telephone, and operation of a motor vehicle. The employee may occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.

Pay and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $65,500 - $80,000 + Commission Opportunities
